opposites

opposites

It's his discipline and her freedom
that drew them together.
Opposites, pulling, unrelenting.
Fatal attraction.
Some sort of desperation.

Then conversation, mundane and banal,
fills the space that words cannot.
They speak in a dance,
stepping around each other,
tripping, stumbling and falling.
A clumsy sort of grace.

His gaze, fixed on her.
Her eyes, lowered.

Cheek to chest,
hand to hair,
silence.

Heartbeats,
both of theirs,
say what they cannot.

A sharp breath,
to keep from crying.

It's time.
For him to go.
For her to let go.

An understanding
that they cannot kill each other
or what binds them together.

Breathe.

Then it'll start all over again.

library skype session

library skype session

Kai took this screen shot and sent it to me cos I dunno how to do it on the Macbook.
HAHA.

That's what I was doing in the library yesterday while waiting for Glenn to finish his paper. Hahaha I was Skyping with Kai! Silent Skyping. The guy opposite flashed me the weirdest look when I started waving to Kai as we decided to go back to mugging. Shortly after, he packed his stuffs and left. HAHA. Oh wells. He who doesn't understand long distance love.

Anyway, because I've been doing all kinds of things BESIDES studying since my first paper started on Wednesday, I think I had the shittiest Lit exam of my life this afternoon. It was BAD. Okay, actually it could either be very good OR very bad. I don't think it's the kind of essay that will fall somewhere in between. Which is BAD.

The things I wrote were totally off the top of my head and not related to the lectures AT ALL. Seriously. It was such a different reading of the texts, my answers could have been my very own book, completely original. Let's hope they're looking for originality huh? Haha.

But that's 3 down and 1 last one to go! I'd better really study for this one since Lit was screwed. Roars. I just hope I don't get anything lower than a B. Or you'll never hear the end of it on 23 Dec when they release the results online.

I can't wait for Monday to come! And more than that, I can't wait for Sarah and Glenn to end their papers on Thursday and Wednesday! Meanwhile, I've got my time perfectly planned - shopping after paper on Monday, tuition and appointment with my hairdresser (finally!) on Tuesday, and touchrug friendly with SAS (S'pore American School) on Wed! (:

But for the weekend I need to live in reality - exams are not over. Just yet!

stress - not enough!

stress - not enough!

This is the last thing I should be doing, with my first paper in less than 48 hours. But then again, this is also the last thing I should be saying - I don't think I'm quite stressed enough!

I did some calculations, for the lack of Math in my life right now, and figured out that my finals only account for 36% of the whole semester's results. You see, out of the 5 modules, French does not have finals, and the other 4 papers are 30%, 40%, 50% and 60% each. Which adds up to a grand total of 180% out of 500% if each module is 100%.

I have no idea if that's a good thing or a bad, but I guess if I'm daydreaming about all the things I'm gonna do after the exams and recounting JC day stories in Sheares' Study Room, then it can't be too good. Haha.

I AM SO NOT MOTIVATED TO STUDY! This bugging flu isn't helping either. I am perpetually sleepy.

Okay Mengs, come on, you need to get off the laptop and go study NOW. Your 64% is NOT enough to get you your grades. The last 36% will MAKE OR BREAK YOU.

Alright alright, back to the books! Because once my papers start on Wednesday, I probably won't have much time to study in between. The papers are all back to back - Wed, Thurs, Fri and Mon. Eeks!

But then again, FREEDOM SOON!

a snippet of conversation

a snippet of conversation

Me, whining: "Blah blah blah I'm going brain-dead, I really don't wanna do my project anymore. It's due in a few hours and I'm going completely mad. I hate projects! Ahh!"

Him: "Hahaha go take a break. You are Miss Piggy. You don't work so hard."

Me: "Nooooo, I can't. Oh no, I hate this. I've got cramps. I hate being a girl. I hate doing my project. I wanna curl up and sleep. But I need to finish this. Eeks!"

Him: "Hmm, okay. How many percent is it anyway?"

Me: "Eh, you don't wanna know."

Him: "How many?"

Me: "50."

Him: "FUCK!"

HAHAHAHA I thought that was damn freaking funny. It cheered me up instantly. And I guess that's the epitome of differences between boys and girls, engineering students and arts students!

So anyway, it's about exactly a week to the exams, and everyone's going mad studying. The rain hasn't been of much help - it's so sleep-inducing! But I do like sitting in the library wrapped up in my warm jacket, a hot latte in hand and staring out of the misty window. It REALLY feels like Christmas is coming soon! Which means most of my friends are coming home!

2 weeks. Then holidays! (:

on avenue Q

on avenue Q

Is there anyone it doesn't suck to be?
Yups, us! It definitely doesn't suck to be us! (:

Haha I went to watch Avenue Q with my two babes at the Esplanade today. The colourful lines in the background are from their latest art exhibition - it's all hula-hoops! Pretty huh? The play was hilarious and heartfelt and really fun! More details and updates another time. I hope you had a nice weekend too! Walking in the snow, and leaving no footprints. So when I'm gone, you won't even find me.
