night at the museumRunning out of cool things to do, Glenn and I checked out the National Museum of Singapore today! I actually had the Singapore Arts Museum in mind, but somehow I got us slightly lost, and Glenn found the way to the National Museum first, so we decided to check that one out instead. Haha. Turst me to lead the way huh.
It's a nice and quiet place that will give you different insights into everyday things, and allows you a peep into Singapore's past - postwar domestic items, fashion, lifestyle, music, films and such. But I think more than that, I enjoyed the architecture. The lovely bay windows, the white pillars, the arch ceilings and everything about those colonial buildings.
I would also advice you not to go alone, because it does get abit creepy because it's so quiet. I was quite spooked when I ventured into one of the exhibition rooms alone and found the wayang outfits and puppets staring back at me. Hahaha. It really DID kinda remind of the movie Night at the Museum.
After having enough of our country's past, we walked over to the Glass House for dinner. The iconic LOVE sign outside is gone for some reason, but the Christmas decorations and the band were awesome! And as usual, there were SO many people celebrating their birthdays there. Hahaha. How can I forget my own slightly embarassing 19th. Hurhur.
The initial plan was for us to share something because we both weren't very hungry, but we ended up finishing a Seafood Platter, a Fish&Chips set and a huge drink. We just had to take a walk down Orchard afterwards so we won't curl up into fat balls and roll home. Hahaha.
Glenn was rather apprehensive to be on the other side of Orchard Road and was afraid I would get us lost again even though all the usual builings were just opposite us! Haha. But it was nice to be on the quieter and slower-paced side. Less people to dodge past and more room to talk. (: We had a great Wednesday night!

Scooter girls!
That's the first exhibit we saw - the postwar (and very cute) personal vehicle.
Glenn's unglam picture with it. Haha.
And he who was checking out his reflection insisted that HE is the only weapon of mass desire. Hahaha.

Tough girl.
In contrast with my reflection.

I love them colonial buildings.
Her World has the coolest quotes!

I took this to show my Mom. She used to have one!
"Mommy, look! Your stuffs are in the
museum!"
HAHA.

The scary wayang things.
And posing for this was damn tiring - invisible chair!

Timer shot No. 1.

Timer shot No. 2! Haha.
The old man is scary. You'll find him staring at you the moment you walk into the museum. And I was happy to be able to read the French words that appeared across his face!
Solitude is a necessary condition for the liberated.
Him, emo-ing because the food was taking a long time. Hahaha.
Me, being greedy with the huge drink.

My favourite photo! And Glenn's first mirror shot. Haha.
I really like the colours. (:
I'm always looking right at you.
