This is the gist of my first proper Lit lecture. Interesting though it was, but there is no way I can say that it is unscary. Big words, new ideas, blow-me-away English… WOW. The wonderful thing about the lesson is that it just breezes by. The lecturer, Mr. Prince (no pun intended), has a damn good sense of humour. I’m in luck!

I went for my first proper swimming training today, and as you can see, I didn’t drown. Although I sure felt like I was going to! We did total inversion today, where you’re supposed to lie straight on the water, and kick gracefully and actually move. Firstly, my name doesn’t exactly go together with the word “graceful”. Never mind that. THEN, we’re supposed to turn our bodies sideways (parallel to the walls) while keep our heads straight. FURTHERMORE, we’re supposed to turn our heads down so that your face is facing the floor of the pool. And up and down. And up and down.

WHY CAN’T WE EVER MOVE BOTH OUR HEADS AND BODIES TOGETHER?

I had gallons of water going into my nose and my mouth and my ears. Yeah, chlorinated and hydrated. The Swim Team spirit! But I’m pretty sure that I am going to master the technique of breathing out through your nose while breathing in through your mouth within this week. So that I don’t end up emptying the water in the pool with my nose the next training.

Oh, and the senior who was coaching us was so good, though I was pretty nervous and scared at first. And she creates very good visuals to help us imagine the perfect stroke. But I think I should tell her that her demonstration is really as good as the visuals.

It rained and rained and rained the whole day.

I slacked and slacked and slacked the whole day.

I didn't attend a single lecture all day long. Lols. Intro lectures were still going on, and there were only 2 lectures I was interested in - Geog and Lit. But I was talking and playing silly games with my OG and retelling my childhood stories (they are really amazing) and forgot the time! I reached the Lecture Theatre 15mins late and decided not to go in. Den at about 12.45pm, I was cordially invited to Commonwealth Secondary School by sc, wx, xm and rk! HOW could I not go? And well, Lit lecture was supposed to be at 1.50pm. I shall not elaborate.

Going back to CSS was a really sweet and warm trip. It touched my heart to see everyone around me in blue again, to be the oldest again, and of course, the teachers who guided us through our 4years at CSS. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, it simply felt like home.

Mrs Terrence said "Oh I feel sooo.. ouch at the sight of other school's badge on our Commonwealth uniform!" when we went back with our AC badges. That made me feel so absolutely, purely Commonwealthian! Hey Mrs Terrence, behind whatever badge we have on, lies a Commonwealthian heart that'll always keep beating.

I miss Commonwealth, truly I do.

Orientation has officially drawn to a close, and lectures has, unfortunately, crept their way in my life. The campfire on Friday night brought orientation to heights, and me to insanity. I was screaming and cheering and dancing like there was no tomorrow! Even though, i didnt really know both dances. I was glad everyone was busy concentrating on their own moves.

Went to Marina Square with my OG on Saturday after alumni meeting at Commonwealth (and how can i not mention i was 2hrs due to waking up late) for the second time in 2days. And erm well, due to the unforeseen late ending of the meeting, I was half an hour late. Yea yea, I know, what's happening to my new year resolutions? I'M TRYING VERY HARD!

Oh anyway, we went to play pool. Everyone said I was good! I think I should not play with them again anytime soon. Just in case my luck runs out. Lols. But well at least it made up for my little stunt of letting the ball slip backwards when we bowled on Friday. =) After pooling we went to have dinner at the new food court. We had Indian food coz that was the only place with enuf seats to fit all of us in. I picked and poked at the Murthabak (??) but it was simply. too. spicy.

Later that night we went to the outdoors theatre, enjoyed some really loud musics (probably coz we were sitting right in front of the speakers) and finally left when our ears couldnt take it anymore. The night scenery, as usual, was superb. =)

Well, introducotry lectures. I was practically late for almost every lecture. I fell asleep during Maths and Physics and Chem lecture. The Chem lecturer was really funny. Lit was interesting, and scary; GP was thought-provoking; KI was WOW; and Geog was fun.

And I REALLY look forward to homework. Yeah.

My first day of college life in ACJC! New faces, new school compounds, new cultural, different uniforms, fun seniors, loud cheers... It was all one funky affair! Orientation is always fun! The best part I appreciate about the pogramme is that they didn't squeeze all the talks in the first day. Surprisingly, we only had ONE talk today. That was on discipline.

Anyway, I broke my first new year resolution today. And I broke my second resolution last night. I slept at 1.30am. It isn't my fault though! I was being a good good girl, cleaning up my room after my dad fixed up the curtains. And I was late to meet Weixiang, Jiajun and Xiemai to go to school together this morning. I wasn't without good excuse, of course! Well, I took a little too long in the shower, was a little too fussy about my hair, and just a teeny weeny bit too choosy about my socks.

I was so lethargic for the early part of the afternoon. I kept forgetting the dance steps that the OGLs taught us and kept turning the wrong way. Sorry, partner, if I stepped on your feet one too many times. Hee.

It felt weird to be suddenly on the participating side of such orientation programmes again! I was getting so used to be on the organising side. Haha. And for some reason, I keep getting the feeling that I was some workshop and am going back to Commonwealth soon. I miss being the oldest in school! And I miss all my friends.

Oh, I saw a rainbow on my way home. Lovely end to my first day of JC. =)

Happy new year! I can't believe it's 2006. I'm going to JC already! Time does fly. Oh, and I am going to ACJC! =) Suddenly I find it kinda scary, going to a new place, meeting new people, making new friends and everything. But I'm sure things will go fine!

Okay, my new year resolutions.

1. Be punctual.

2. Sleep before 12midnight on weekdays (with all dued homework done).

3. THINK before I talk.

4. Lose 5kg.

That's it. =D If I write more I'm gonna forget them before March arrives.


I think I'm very sick in the mind. I helped out with springcleaning yesterday. I cleaned the master toilet, wiped ALL the glass surfaces and mirrors in the house (believe me, it's not a small area when it comes to cleaning!) while my dear old daddy was SLEEPING. I was so irritated. The next thing to do was to vaccum the floor.At the thought of vaccuming the master bedroom first and pissing my dad off with the loud noise, I LAUGHED OUT LOUD.

Man, I did freak myself out. Such a saddist. Tsk. But well, the next time Mengqi actually picks up a broom, you'd better get your lazy ass outta bed. =)
