holiholiday

holiholiday

My title - it's a public holiday in the school holidays, you know? Haha okay never mind me.

So I went random shopping with Mommy today. You know, the kinda whereby you just walk around and see if anything is standing around screaming "TAKE ME HOME!!!". Yeah, that was what we did. And gosh, we ended up with a truckload of stuffs.

After lunch we went stationery shopping first to replace my lost pencilcase. Gosh, we ended up buying a whole stack of assessment books for my brother and a few storybooks he picked out. Goodluck to his June holidays. Haha. But don't get it wrong, he's not like suffocated by work and all. He's got piano lessons, Wushu lessons, swimming lessons, ping-pong (I call it his gay sport) practices in school, and time for computer games and TV and I don't know what else. I don't know how he finds the time. Haha.

Anyways, even though I bought over twenty bucks worth of stationery, it still doesn't make me very happy. Usually I'm really happy after spending money. I just feel that stationery is a form of collection, and not a one time massive buy. It's like, I've lost all the souveniers from all the holidays or something. Okay, I'm really anal about this. Haha.

And then we went to ALL THE SPORTING SHOPS (that's 3) to look for yoga mats for Mommy and best friend. Yeah, they've got another bestfriend-time on their list now - yoga time. The first shop we went to sold Nike mats. They contemplated for the longest time and decided to go to the other shops to look at VGA ones, compared prices and discussed the quality of the mats AND FINALLY DECIDED TO GO BACK AND GET THE NIKE ONES from the first shop. Gosh, tell me why am I not surprised. Haha.

After that we went to Harvey Norman and Courts to look at Idontknowwhat and Mommy suddenly decided that the living room needs another fan and so does my brother's room. I refused to get any kinds of fans in my room (especially wall fans because it's so freaking hideous!) other than the ceiling fan, so we bought 2 tower fans! Just like that! At random! Quite cool ah. And yes, we combed both stores before going back to Harvey Norman to get the very first one we saw.

But the not cool part was when she realised that we need to do some grocery shopping, and then come back up to collect the fans and lug EVERYTHING (2 tower fans, maybe 7 bags of grocery, one huge stack of books) to the cab stand between the 2 and a half of us (because my brother can't carry alot). Gosh, it was no joke okay. Halfway down I was dragging the damned fan (with a box, of course) on the floor. Thank goodness for the security guard who stands at the cab stand, doubling as a bell boy. He opens cab doors for people and stuffs like that. Funny that they have it at a heartland shopping mall eh. BUT VERY GOOD SERVICE! (:

Goodness me. I just collapsed on the couch when I got home. It was so tiring! I am never going random shopping with Mommy anytime soon again. Shopping must have an agenda this time, and it shall only be clothes, bags or shoes. Haha!

So anyways! Here're the overdued pictures from Monday's dinner with my classmates before most of them went off for the choir concert. I took a really expensive cab ride down to Marina Bay because I thought I was freaking late, but it turned out I wasn't even close to the latest. Haha.

The M's.
And this is the picture in which my mom thought I was naked with a cushion. Tsk!

The S's.

Oli's O burger. Haha!

Matin's hugeass burger.

Four of us! Almost colour coordinated again. Haha!
And we stood in front of the escalator, looking weird just to take this picture.

All of us. :D It's so small cos I stole it from Mel's blog

Check out the old man's cap! It's really cool!

After all of them went off, Mel and I went shooopping! Saw many, many nice dresses but no money. ): Shall drag Mommny to go CLOTHES shopping soon. :D I really want that turqouise dress from Zara! It's damn cute and it's only 40bucks for a dress! Definitely a must-buy, right? Haha. Oh and Diva was having 50% sale! Yay I bought a pair of earrings. Very happy with myself. (((: So many emoticons (is this what people call them nowadays?) in this paragraph.
Haha!

Since I'm on this, I shall update about West Side Story, which I watched with them on 7th April 2007. Haha! More than a month late!

Dinner with Mel, Shu, Sheryll, Jarrod, Boren, Samuel See & Xiang Un at Sun & Moon.

HAHHA! The bottle of water above cost more than 4bucks! When the waitress asked, "Water? Clear or sparkling?", they ordered clear because we thought it's the normal ice water that comes free! But NO, it costs 4bucks! Boren wanted them to fill tap water for him. Hahaha. So glad I opted for peach punch. :D

Random street shots.

Such a pretty picture of the Sg river that I decided to post it all by itself although I'm really lazy to load pictures tonight.

Shu, Sheryll, Mel & me! :D

Another one on Shu's cam.
We're colour coordinated, unplanned. And including shoes! :D Though you can't see my white ones. Haha.

Qiuyan! :D

The M's again.

Again! :D This was after.

The Clinic's pretty building.

MINI COOPER!

All ours. :D

I think the sign in the first picture is damn funny. Haha! Good thing we walked DOWN, not up. We'd have died halfway, all three of us. Hahaha.

I actually wanted to blog about Phantom of the Opera with Phuay on 13th May (late, late) too but it's getting pretty late and I've got Geog lecture tomorrow! Oh and by the way I'm writing this on Sunday night, not Thursday. It says Thursday because I don't wanna look so late. Haha! My blogging dates are all screwed up. And I think Phantom deserves an entry all by itself anyways! :D Until the next one, love!

Today was gooooood. Mainly because I didn't totally waste the day away by stoning on my bed or reading until i fall sleep! Hahaha and because I got to spend time with all my girls. :D

Woke up at 11.15am and went "OH SHIT!" because I was supposed to meet Shu & Mel at Holland V at 11am to study. Haha! Then I took my own sweet time to shower and have breakfast because Daddy said he'll give me a ride since he's dropping by home to pick up some papers or something. And when he walked in the door at 12.20pm, he said "Sorry! I need to rush off to an urgent meeting. I forgot."

Of course I pouted and gave him the unhappy daughter's face. Heh. Then he offered to pay for my cab ride AND I STUPIDLY, STUBBORNLY said NO, I'll take a BUS. I regretted the moment he left house. How stupid, HOW STUPID!

So anyways I took a super long bus ride to school to look for my pencilcase and collect some GP work. AND NOOOOO, I COULDN'T FIND MY PENCILCASE. ))): But then again, I forgot to check the Lost&Found section. Hahaha. I really hope it's there! Took a cab down to Holland because the weather was at melting temperature, if not higher. Gosh.

When I reached the cafe next to Swensens (or somewhere along that stretch), I looked around, couldn't find Shu & Mel, and went upstairs. Still I couldn't find them, but saw Lydia and some other AC peeps. So I called Shu and asked her where was she.

"Where are you?"

"Coffeebean! You?"

"Yeah, I'm here too but I don't see you!"

"Huh? I don't see you too!"

"Coffeebean right?"

"Yeah, Coffeebean --"

Then I felt a tap on my shoulder. Lydia said "Uhh Mengqi this is STARBUCKS." Zomgx I wanted to dig a hole and jump right in. So freaking embarassing! Hahaha. So thankful Lydia was there! Imagine some stranger listening to my conversation on the phone and realising how dumb I was! It must have been the sun, I swear. Addled my poor brains.

Studying was not bad, even though we kept pausing to chitchat in between. Haha. We all have very short attention spans. Despite that I still think that it's the most productive day so far. I did a whole lot of Math! Okay fine, it's only Tutorial 29 but hey, it's a start for someone who hasn't touched Math homework in awhile. Heh.

Went off at about 6 to meet Vannie to go to Bev's place together. It was supposed to be a hockers' sleepover/clubbing session that I just got back from. But I neither clubbed nor stayed over. Haha. Decided that I don't wanna get Mummy pissed off so early in the holidays even though Bev's house is only 5minutes away. Well, it was heaps of fun while it lasted anyways! :D

After being couch potatoes for the longest time, somehow we started talking about arcades & Para Para's & DDR's. Bev remembered that she has a DDR mat at home so she took it out for us to try. Omigosh, that was it. Loud music and floor stomping and non-stop giggling and laughing and screaming. Hahaha. It's like pseudo clubbing and you only move your legs. Everyone should look at Shiyan do her thing! Haha! Then Sammie & Fang got the hang of it and they were both damn good - with scores over 10million okay.

Then 9++ the clubbers left and we started playing mahjong. Gosh, I am the SUCKER at mahjong, we found out. Firstly, I stack the tiles really slowly. While I was trying to lift up my tiles (cos they were facing down), it slided forward and pushed the lower deck of the tiles in front of me and I got my tiles mixed up! Hahaha. Secondly, I always forget to draw the first tile before I discard. Thirdly, I have problems counting the bamboos and the dots. Once I ate Karen's 5 dots so that I have 567 in sequence for the dots tiles, and then after awhile I realised I didn't have 7 at all! It was 5, 6, 8. Hahaha! And nobody realised. And most importantly, I NEVER WIN!!! The closest I get is when I wait for a pair, and had to throw out either 1 or 2. I chose to throw 1 and wait for another 2. The next card I get 1.

But keep playing with me okay! I'll get better at it. Wah, I realise how hard it is to describe the game of mahjong. Hahaha.

Oh, and I figured there's something freaking wrong with my sense of touch! When we moveD on to drinking games, whereby we pick a tile at random and try to figure out what's on the tile simply but feeling it, I KEPT GETTING IT WRONG! Even the simple ones like ONE DOT, I guessed "FA CHOY!" Gosh.

And I finally headed down and grabbed a cab home after I won ONE ROUND. Hee.

Kaiyi & meeeeee!

Vannie doing her thing; couch potatoes & our mahjong table.

Hahaha taitai wannabes.

Mahjong queens!

Pictures courtesy of Kaiyi! I forgot my camera. Haha. Okay, I was actually going to end the entry here but OMG my mom is looking at the photos from Restless and SHE SAYS SARAH AND I LOOK LIKE AHLIANS!!! I say 'NO, WHERE GOT?' and she says 'GOT, EVERYTHING FROM FRINGE TO FACE.' Ahhhhh! I want to die. My own mother is saying I look like an AhLiAnxXx. Okay, now she looks at a picture of me in an orange tube with orange cushions behind me and she exlaims 'EH, YOU NAKED AH?' So she finally realises I'm wearing the orange tube, she says 'Cheh, I thought you used the cushion to cover yourself or something.' I half-shrieked 'You think I'm mad ah?!' She replies 'Yeah, maybe.'

MY VERY OWN MOTHER!!! But I attribute all her comments to the lack of her specs. She's 500+++degrees myopic, so there. And I suspect that she was drinking with Daddy earlier on in the evening while I was drinking cough syrup tasting Vodka at Bev's and she got high! No wonder Daddy was asleep by the time I got home. Gosh, we're a whole family of drunkards! HAHA.

Okay, the whole family will go and sleep their drunk-ness away now. I couldn't look you in the eye.

Shout-out: Daphne! ROARS. Haven't seen you in quite awhile! Hee, thanks! (: Hmm, Sarah's blue dress is from Zara and mine is from this dress shop at Far East!

Post-Script: I wanted to post 'Warning: Hockers Only (II) yesterday but Blogger couldn't handle so many pictures. Haha. Keep your eyes peeled though! (:

LOST

LOST

Just when I got my lazy ass down to packing my room & my worksheets & notes so that I can sit down and study in peace, I DISCOVER THAT MY PENCILCASE HAS GONE MISSING!!! My beloved fury, leopard print & slightly pink pencil case! A present for Christmas and all my favourite pens in there! And they are all NEW. Eeekkks!

I'm seriously, incredibly, terribly upset. I was telling Quikz that I'd be less upset if I lost my phone. Argh. Now I can't study cos I can't write pretty notes (don't argue; it's a must with me) with the pens I'm so used to. So used to. I guess that's why I'm so upset.

I think I might have left it at the candeck or in my locker or in Vannie's locker while I was packing my overstuffed bag on Friday. ))): WHAT KINDA DUMBASS LOSES HER PENCILCASE!? Eeeeeks.

By the way, it looks like this:

If you happen to see it lying around PLEASE return it to me, PLEASE! I'll be superduper happy & grateful and I might even treat you to a drink! I just want my pencilcase. ): See, who on earth takes pictures of her pencilcase right? ONLY ME BECAUSE I REALLY LIKE IT!

If you're as helpless as I am, you can pray for me that I find it tomorrow when I pop by school to look for it since I'm going to Holland to study with the girls.

Pencilcase, oh pencilcase! Where are you? ):

So last Friday, 25th May, was the last day of Term 2 and we got half the day off because our performing arts did really well (Dance - Gold w Honours, Choir - Gold, Band - Gold w Honours, Chinese Orchestra - Gold, Chinese Drama - Gold w Honours, yups I think that's all) and our sports did pretty well too. Almost everyone's 3rd and 4th. Oh well, not really our year!

Anyways, assembly was super long because 4 sports went up to give speeches and present plagues and all. Badminton, bowling, golf & HOCKEY! Standing on stage was exhilarating and a oh so proud moment. Excellent way to end the term! :D

After that I skipped Math & half of Econs to go donate blood even though it was so freaking painful last year. Turns out I couldn't donate because the only vein they could find on my arm is too weak. If they poke the gigantic needle in, the vein will collapse, which will cause pretty bad internal bleeding, which was what happened last year I think. Well, at least they found out BEFORE they poke the needle in this time around. Haha.

I went home to sleep before meeting Sarah, Jiajun & Sheryll for Restless at NAFA. I told Sarah I'd meet her around 4ish to shop around at Bugis first but I ended up waking at 4! Hahaha. Good thing she had her boyfriend to keep her company! Hee. Staying up to burn CDs and print double-sided notes was tiring lahs. Heh, at least I have an excuse. So I finally reached Bugis at 6 and had a quick dinner AND THEN Sheryll came. Hahaha. Tsk, late queens we are.

The dance itself was great! I was very amazed at how fast the dancers change and their stamina. No joke okay, they danced and danced non-stop for like an hour and a half! Not any easier than running for a full game! Good job, dancers! And lovely dancing, Shu! So proud of you! (:

And of course, such a must-take-photos event. :D

Prawnie!

Camwhores, camwhores.

Sarah said, "Eh, why you only smile one?"

Haha so yeah, explains my face.

I look like I didn't want a picture with them. Haha.

Sarah & Jiajun! I like this photo of them. (:
Even though Jiajun claimed that Sarah was being narcissistic & cut off half of his face.

I tried to take a picture with everyone, and somewhere in the middle it turned to a group picture. Hahaha. Why am I not surprised?

Coach, mini-coach, Ms Tan & Chare.

Okay, I throw in the towel. It's simply IMPOSSIBLE to load all the pictures into one entry. Haha. I've been at this forever and I'm only done with the pictures from ONE NIGHT! I think it's an excellent idea to split it into parts, no? There're still the pictures from our last game, last training and other random trainings. Haha.

So anyways, that was our Prize Presentation after the boys' and girls' finals, which RJC won 4 - 0 against ACS(I) and VJC won 1 - 0 against SAJC respectively. (And secretly I'm quite happy that RJC totally thrashed ACS(I) cos I think they need to learn that they need to team up with us instead of competing against us to win! Bleah. Haha!) I'm so proud of both our teams! (: The only school with both boys and girls placed the same position. Yay! Don't think there's much to say, considering the amount of pictures. Yes, we were very happy.

After major camwhoring, our bus came and after a huge jam along Orchard, we finally got to the Glass House for food, oh glorious food! I was so hungry I finished a whole Fish&Chips by myself! Gosh, now that there're no more trainings I need to stop eating so much or I'll grow fat & die. Haha.

The evening was fantastic cos we had the whole of the second level to ourselves, which meant that we could make as much noise as we wanted and run around like it was our very own place. Haha. And the people there are really nice! Not a single disapproving look. :D And the live music was GREAT! Especially when the 4 tone-deaf babies decided to take the stage and sing Mon her birthday song! Hahaha. Very sweet! One of my favourite, favourite dinners. And it'll last for a long, long time. <3

Part II coming up soon! I pushed you away and now I'm wishing you'd stayed.
