when your shoes die

when your shoes die

Shopping with Kaiyi & Fran with a purpose and budget today! Haha shall not say what we shopped for just in case. :D We were supposed to meet at 1.30pm at P.S, but guess what, we only met a 2.45pm when Fran & I satisfied our craving for Long Johns. Hee!

So we walked around and shopped for stuffs and ideas and then my fake Birks died on me! It just broke while I was walking. And what else can that mean? NEW SHOES! It's a sign, it's a sign! We were just looking at shoes before lunch and then look what happened! With like 10bucks left on me on a Friday, I called Mommy and asked her how and she said I guess you can use Daddy's card first. (:

Weehee I guess I wasn't a clerk for 2days for nothing. Since the office clerk went on a holiday, I'm the one whose posting letters and depositing money and stuffs for my Dad. WITHOUT PAY. And because I deposited the money for him today, I had the card and now I have my new shoes! Hahaha this is exciting. Well done, broken old shoes! Fran and Kaiyi both said they've never seen anyone so happy about spoiling their shoes while shopping. Haha!

Fran and I took forever to decide on which pair of shoes to get - which design, which colour, which size! I bet the salesgirls hated us. Oh wells, at least we bought a pair each! And Kaiyi you should buy the black wedges! :D

You know what they say about wedges being comfortable? Bullshit, all bullshit! I think I've just acquired myself the most painful shoes to walk in thus far. Hurhur. I almost died walking from the shoe shop to the bus stop. Hahaha! Oh wells. But they're still the sexiest things ever! Yes yes, you can call me bimbo all you want. I don't care; I've got nice, sexy shoes! (:

All the heels we tried!

Oh, it was so stressful deciding which pair to bring home.

Aren't they lovely!

Sexy stuff. (: I just need to learn to walk in them.

shopping & eating

shopping & eating

That's exactly what we did today. Haha. What else can you expect when girls get together? Hee. I met up with Clare (it's been so long! ) and Vannie (boys are really smelly!) today! (: We were supposed to meet at one in town but I only woke up at one. Hahaha I'm getting terrible. Decided to meet them at Vivo instead cos of the rainy weather. It sucks to be in town when it's raining. So difficult to get around!

Headed for a late lunch at Marche! Pretty view (except when two families stripped their toddlers down to their birthday suits and let them run about the park) but there was a rather limited choice of food. It's alot smaller than the one that used to be at Heeren, unfortunately. But my dessert was damn good! I had a fruit cake which took me much effort to get it off the damn tray onto my plate but it just won't happen and in the end the waiter had to come and do it while Vannie & Clare laughed at me. It really wasn't all that easy, even for the waiter okay! Hahaha.

Shopping after that to burn off some of those calories (Did I mention I'm getting fat? My face is getting ROUND!) and yes I went back to all those shops I just went to a few days before. Hahaha. And no, I don't get bored looking at the same clothes. (: Vannie was a busy bee looking for clothes while Clare and I got lazy and drowsy and sat wherever we could. Haha! That's why I love them. :D

Oh Clare I wish you didn't have to be so faraway in Winter Wonderland most of the time. ): Gonna miss you much, but when you come back in Decemeber we will party our heads off together! And please, keep using your fork and spoon and knife in the U.K. It is supposed to be a civilised society. Haha. And welcome to the club, Vannie! You know we all love you so much! (: Okay, pictures!

Ooh my delicious grape & strawberry cake.

They look alike here!

Should you LOOSE your Marche Guest Card... Haha!

Gloomy day.

Clare, so pretty!

Vannie, so sweet!

Because their Oreo Cheesecake wasn't really nice.

Hahaha we meshed it up and made a new one!

Happy girls! (:

We look like angels with the light above our heads!

So we tried again. :D

First shop.

I love them big mirrors.

Candid shot!

Three of us babes. (:

With love! (:

lazy girly day

lazy girly day

Our inability to decide on where to go today saw us going swimming and renting DVDs to watch at home. Haha. The must-have post exam therapy. (:

Sarah and I went to this new place near my house to swim today and it has an indoor pool! It can rain for all I care, and how cool is that after yesterday's long and fruitless wait. :D The place is damn cool because it's brand new, it has two fullsize pools (indoor & outdoor), lotsa space, a lazy river, a kids' water playground and a huge slide! And it was all empty. We had the entire outdoor pool to ourselves and one mad guy swimming nonstop in the freezing indoor pool. Super fab!

After doing some laps, we went to explore the rest of the place abit. Oh gosh, the big slide doesn't require floats/mats and it was so freaking painful on my poor butt! My butt was seriously burning towards the end and I couldn't wait to get out. Sarah was so scared that her swimsuit would tear. Hahaha! Heh if they had floats we would play a few more times despite the long climb up the stairs. I like slides!

The only thing about being such a cool and empty place is that there were way too many lifeguards. Considering the number of swimmers, I think the ratio was like one-one. One lifeguard per swimmer. Haha. So this lifesaving chap got bored and tried to chat us up while we were slacking at the end of the pool and it was just so weird. We could almost see his brains churning desperately to think of more stuffs to say when our not-quite-existent conversation was dwindling to its own death. At the second attempt, we finally got away with a "Eh, you wanna swim somemore? Bye!" But later he caught us trying to walk against the tide in the lazy river, struggling like morons. Hahaha! We immediately turned and let the flow carry us away and pretended not to see him. Heh, we were so ready to whip out the "Sorry-my-boyfriend-won't-be-too-happy-with-me-talking-to-strange-guys" line when he finally left us alone. Oh wells, that's the bored lifeguard for you.

Ahh and you know what! The sun decided to shine its bright ass at me today when I'm wearing my swimsuit! You know what that means as clearly as it's showing on my back. The swimsuit tanline is even more prominent now! I don't like it one bit. ): I'm even more determined to go suntanning soon!

Our lazy movies' afternoon included being couch potatoes and exercising our stomach muscles by roaring with laughter. Hahaha White Chicks is so freaking hilarious I tell you! And I rented The Devil Wears Prada & Monster-in-Law too. So looking forward to more lazy afternoons! :D

I'm pretty burnt!
Hahaha that can be like my new name! Pretty Burnt.
Okay nevermind.

Post-Script (to Passerby): Haha I'm not a terribly good person to ask considering I have no idea what to do with my life after As. But I guess you should be starting to study pretty hard now if you wanna do well for Os. Get a study buddy! Someone who would seriously study with you that is. And keep up with the revision rate going on in school. That worked pretty well for me. Apart from that, just keep studying! (: Goodluck!

waiting for sunshine

waiting for sunshine

It's really funny how often we complain about the heat in the country, and then spent the whole of today just waiting for the rain to stop and the sun to march gloriously out of the dark clouds and bestow us with our tanning time. But no, the rain that started in the morning lasted all through the afternoon and we were stuck indoors. It was so not as planned.

The plan was to meet at 9.30am and go to Sentosa for some Vitamin D, but at 10am I was sitting at the bus stop, cold and wet, waiting for Shiyan to come pick me up in a cab so that we can go to Phuay's house and wait for the weather to clear, hopefully. I was reduced to counting the number of Mercs, Lexus and BMWs that drove past. Heh.

This was how we ended up spending the day: Watching old movies on cable, lunch, pressing our faces against the window and watching the mini landslide dump mud into the pool, nap(we were reading magazines and then all three of us fell asleep!), various phone times, AND THEN FINALLY THE RAIN STOPPED AND THE SUN PEAKED OUT ABIT!

We grabbed our towels, tanning lotion, cameras and dashed down to the pool. As quickly as we could, we moved a couple of chairs to where the sunlight was and sat there, expecting to feel the warm sunshine. Instead all we felt was the cold drizzle and the moist wind and the weakest of sunlight. I bet the neighbours would have thought we were total idiots if they chose the look out the of the window then.

So then we got bored of sitting there in the cold and went to test the water abit and it was absolutely freezing! But being out there with our cameras already, we just had to take a few pictures before the sun went down. Oh and by the way, it was pouring after about half an hour. We were annoyed beyond words, I tell you. I just really wanna get rid of the swimsuit tanlines I've acquired over the exam period!

But I must say I'm really glad that we chose to go to Phuay's house and wait it out instead of heading straight to Sentosa. Can you imagine us three stranded on the beach with the rain pouring down, all cold and miserable? We'll probably whine ourselves to death. Haha!

Waiting for sunshine.

On the balcony, waiting for Phuay to get geared up!

Hahaha deprived of our Vitamin D!

Yeah, we look that good even when we're freezing our asses out there. :D

Phuay didn't dare to go any deeper into the pool.

Hahaha look at Shiyan!

Hee we look quite happy but it was seriously damn cold!

A glam photo of Shiyan. (:

Weehee!

Getting high in the sun!

Camwhoring shifted back to Liying's room when the rain came down again.

We fooled around with the blue sari.

And then decided we didn't need an excuse! (:

ten weird things about me

ten weird things about me

Each player of this game starts off with TEN weird habits or little known things about yourself.People who get tagged must write in a blog of their own TEN weird or little known facts about yourself as well as state this rules clearly. At the end, you must choose 6 people to tag and list their names. NO TAG BACKS.

I was tagged by Fang, so here goes!

1. I like to sleep and I dream alot. Whichever the chicken, whichever the egg, the point is I really like my sleep. And I love dreaming! I have all kinds of dreams - being held hostage by terrorists, dancing on bamboo poles that stick out from HDB flats, getting chased by a Chinese zombie and then falling into nothingness, hanging out with my friends, people refusing to tell me where to take the paper during Prelims, forgetting to charge my camera for Prom (horror of horrors!), moving to a house where the water from the neighbour's swimming pool keeps spraying into my room and so many more! Especially on days when I have nothing to do, having all these dreams makes me feel like I've actually done something. :D

2. I don't quite fancy going through my twenties. I'm enjoy my reckless, carefree, impulsive and unbelievably fun teenage schooling years very much, and I'm already getting sad about hitting the big two oh in two years' time. The whole figuring out what to do with your life and getting out of school and trying to find a nice job that you like with a good pay and basically trying to get something out of your life for a couple of years doesn't sound all that appealing to me somehow. I think I'll be happier in my early thirties with everything settled - the great job and the perfect family and stuffs. Heh.

3. I'm a perfect idealist. I like to the think that the world is capable of perfection, and all the things I don't like happen by mistake of some sorts. I don't see myself changing the world so that it'll be closer to perfection, but somehow I still believe that there's is always the capacity, waiting to happen. Okay, I don't quite know how to explain this anymore. Idealist, you get it.

4. When I read, I like to pretend that I'm actually watching a movie. I think that's how my love for reading began as a kid. It's really cool, and makes the experience more real.

5. I was bitten by dogs twice in my short life. The first one bit me on the ass when I was running in some park with all the innocence in the world as a 3yearold. The second one was when I was about 4, and went to feed my neighbour's dog. When the dog barked at me, I smacked it damn hard on the head because I thought that was what all adults did when they pat their dogs you see. So yeah, I was squatting there and just inviting the damn beast to bite me. I still have a scar above my lip now.

6. When I was younger, I used to sit on the window sill with my legs dangling on the outside at night from my second-storey bedroom. Because my parents always send me to bed way before I could fall asleep and because my bed was right beside the window, I used to climb halfway out of the window and sit there waving to passerbys until I hear my parents getting ready for sleep. Hahaha I bet I scared alot of people. It lasted until I was in Primary 3 I think, when I figured I must look quite scary.

7. Spending money makes me happy. A strange sense of satisfaction and joy washes over me everytime I take some from my wallet and pass it a complete stranger who would then hand me some merchandise of some kind. It's really quite strange because I can never figure out why it makes me so lightly happy. And between the stuffs I spend on, it's usually food that I pay for the most, contrary even to my own belief because I really like nice clothes. Oh wells! To be a woman. Haha.

8. I almost drowned as a kid. When I was about 4, I went for swimming classes with my cousin who's 4years older than me. All the other kids in the class were older than me, so the coach always had to pay special attention to me. One day, he had to go away for awhile and plonked me on a pool chair and told me not to go anywhere. I decided to explore abit and ended up on the floor of the adult pool. I remember seeing legs moving but I wasn't scared one bit because I didn't know you can't breathe underwater! Hahaha and then my cousin's friend had to go to the toilet and he kicked me while moving to the side of the pool and eventually discovered it was me underwater and pulled me out. From then on the coach always plonked me on the pool chair with a float whenever he had to go away.

9. I threw a rock at boy and broke his head. I was in China when I was 4 and it was winter. My neighbour who's one day older than me said he'll throw a snowball at me, and I decided I should be on the offensive so I picked up a pebble and threw it at him first. Who knew I'd be so accurate to hit him on the head and he started bleeding! I got so scared I ran home crying so that I won't get the blame. Hahaha!

10. I got another boy expelled in Primary 2. I was the teacher's pet in primary school and there was a new boy in class who was transfered from another school because he was really naughty. One afternoon I fell into the ecopond (think mud, think frogs, think murky water) when the whole class was looking at tadpoles during recess. Don't ask me how I fell in, but when my teacher came and asked what happened, the boys in my class told her that the new boy pushed me in even though I remembered seeing him on the opposite side. Because I didn't like him very much and because I was somewhat in shock, I just said yes. And I never saw the poor boy in class again. I still feel quite bad! ):

So there, ten weird things about me. Haha I hope you all are still my friends. And I shall not tag anyone because this took me really long to think and I reckon everyone's either busy studying or partying their heads off. Heh.

To all those who have just started Prelims or are starting: ALL THE BEST! It'll be over in a blink, don't worry! (:

8 hours in heels

8 hours in heels

Shopping with the best friend today! 8 hours in heels is no joke. The last three toes of my right foot is still numb now, and I'm not kidding. And by the way this is Monday evening already! I guess I shall continue soaking my poor feet in hot water every night. It's pure bliss, I tell you. But yes, the price you pay for vainity.

We went to Vivo first and the place is bigger than we remembered it to be. But we still love having Topshop, Mango, a huge Forever21, River Island, Zara and many more shops lined up in an air-conditioned stretch with nice flat grounds. (: Had great fun trying on nice dresses & tops and secretly taking pictures in the changing rooms. Haha. Ooh and River Island has such pretty changing rooms! Pink and red and orange. Very nice & girly!

We also visited many men's stores to look for a present for Sarah's boyfriend's upcoming birthday next month and as usual, shopping for guys' present is such a headache! And pretty embarassing at times when it's with Sarah. Hahaha. Okay, I think I shall stop here in case I accidentally spill the beans and Sarah will wanna kill me. :D

Evening time was spent at Haji Lane with Sarah's classmates - Liying, Valentia, Sammie, Joy and Yiying. I was too tired to shop by then, so all I did was taking a bunch of nice photos, or camwhore. Hahaha. Oh and then it started raining for awhile! It's quite horrible to be stuck at Haji Lane in the dark. Good thing it didn't last. Finally all of us got so tired we just headed back to Bugis and plonked ourselves at Starbucks, enjoying the aircon and taking more pictures until we found enough strength to walk to the cabstand.

Lovely day with lovelier photos! (: I couldn't help editting most of the photos because they look so nice! Haha.

Cute picnic dresses!

Sarah bought that classy top. (:

I couldn't decide to buy this tree dress or not!

Skyhigh!

I love the vintage decor.

Fake old photo.

They had mirrors everywhere. Haha.

With Liying!

Uneditted.

Hahah three of us camwhores.

Shopping queens.

Phuay Phuay!

We couldn't resist. Haha.

There's a ghost beside Valentia!

Now I'm the ghost with the orange light on my face.

Yeah baby.

Bloated and tired.

Camwhore, camwhore.

I like this photo!

I decided to a monster.

Sarah said we had to take a proper one.

Valentia, Yiying and Sarah.

With Liying, Sammie & Joy.

All of us girl! (:

Poof! It's been pretty long since I last took so many photos. Haha. More to come when I go cycling with my classmates on Tuesday! :D

OH and calling all hockers! We're planning a HOCKEY PICNIC at the Botanic Gardens (near our training place) possibly on the coming Monday, first day of the Sept holidays! Exciting exciting! Please tell me if you cannot make it on that day so that we can rearrange or something, otherwise it's a date!

Yay I'm striking stuffs off my wanna-do list fast! (:
