off for camp
Hello friends! I'm gonna disappear for 6 days - I'll be off to NUS Sports Camp 2008! It lasts from Monday to Saturday, and the packlist includes 11 sets of clothes. Yes, 11!
I'm so tired from packing already. I even bought a huge duffel bag so that I won't have to show up with a luggage, looking like an idiot. Haha!
Things to look forward to include cable-skiing, Paintball, nightcycling, Luge rides, wakeboarding, nightcycling, pool games, a day at Sentosa and heaps more! As usual, I am so excited! My first UNI camp! ((: I just hope I'll still be alive and kicking at the end of the 6 mad days.
I've met my OG once, and they look like pretty nice people. Fran's friend, Nut, is in my OG, and we've happily made friends already. At least I won't be completely friendless for sure. Haha.
Long update and hopefully pictures in 6 days. I'll miss you'all, especially my two bimbos!

To enjoy the last of our carefree and jobless days, Sarah and I have been thinking up unusual stuffs to do! We've gone to the Escape theme park, cycled to West Coast Park and even explored Pulau Ubin.
This time, we decided to have a nice little picnic at the Botanic Gardens!
We met insanely early in the morning (which is really like 9am but it's as early as we get, minus sleepovers), dropped by Tanglin Mall to pick up somemore food, and then we were happy picnic-goers under the shade of an enormous tree.
It was so relaxing to be sprawled out on 2 sarongs, munching on giant strawberries and cherry tomatoes, slurping fruit juice and yoghurt, and snacking on sandwiches, biscuits and cereal. We brought way too much food for just the 2 of us.
We pranced on the big green fields and took silly photos. We climbed onto odd-looking trees and fed birds with breadcrumbs. We chatted with very educated maids and played with adorable little angmoh kids. We dodged behind trees and pretended to be Bollywood superstars.
The weather was great - sunny and breezy - perfect for our picnic! We almost lost our shared envy of the dry, insect-free grass that other countries boast. The greens and blues and bright sunshine were beautiful!

Haha we took such a long time choosing the socks because we didn't wanna buy the same 3 colours. And by 4pm, we were both on the bus home already!
The long day completely wore us out. I think it was the running around and jumping for the photos that were the most tiring! Not to mention the long walk to town. We felt like such nature's girls! (:

The jobless friend and I, at the indoor pool near my place today.
Sarah and I have been swimming so much!
We swim in AC's good old pool; we swim in public pools all over the west; and we swim at The Carribean with Phuay sometimes.
We swim anything between 2 to 10 laps, about twice or even thrice a week. We do somersaults in the water and dive to the bottom of the pool. We splash water at each other and hold our breathes underwater. We even go on the kiddy slides at some pools!
It's so good - we feel healthy, fit and so chlorinated! But our hair, oh, it's so gross and dry after every swim!

I finally went to play touchrug in school again! I've always wanted to go, but most of the time I get pangseh-ed left, right, centre, upside down. Haha. It never works out!
This Saturday, I played with Fran, Nick, Malone and some of the J4s. The sport is as fun as ever. I have learnt not to scream or toss the ball when I get tagged, but I still cannot dash/fake/dodge my way through the defence. Haha. Still, I managed to score one touchdown!
Funny moments where when I passed the ball to Malone when he called for it, even though he was on the opposite team; and when my face contorted into the class expression of pure shock when a ball I wasn't expecting landed in my arms; and when Fran tried to tell funny jokes that she couldn't remember. Hahaha. Of the above, of course the last was the funniest. We laughed and laughed and laughed.
Then I rushed home, wolved down some lunch, and skipped off to teach my first session of Chinese tuition 2minutes away from home! Yes, I teach Chinese! To a Primary 5 boy! It actually wasn't that bad, probably because I did all the prep work on my way to school in the morning.
The little boy talks so much! Whenever I try to explain a phrase in English to him, he would seize the moment and start chatting to me in English. He asks nonsensical questions to waste time, and he loves to act out the dialogues in the passages even if he doesn't know some of the words. He's pretty hyper-active! I'll have to be stricter the next session!
Two hours later, I was back home, trying to figure out whether there was time to take a nap before meeting the touchrug kids plus Kaiyi and Glenn already. After a dozen messages and phone calls later, we finally concluded that yes, we want to watch a movie in town, and yes that movie is You Don't Mess With The Zohan.
It took me nearly half an hour to find 6 non-first-row tickets on this Saturday night! Cinemas stretching from Vivocity to Marina Square to Plaza Sing to Cine were all packed! 3hours before the movie! I finally found some decent seats at good old Lido.
The show was so retardedly hilarious! All of you should go and catch it. I love the accents, jokes and Adam Sandler. The boys (Nick and Glenn at least) were falling out of their seats with laughter. Malone was falling... asleep. Haha! That poor guy was surviving on 2hrs' of sleep!
I love Saturdays like this - relaxed, unplanned, well-spent and a whole lot of laughter and fun! :D
You can't see it, but all of us have head-turning abs from laughing so hard.
And if you look closely enough, you'll see that Malone's got his eyes closed already. Haha!
Uhh, they tried to surprise me by taking this with my cam while I went to get some Macs.

My new UOB card has earned me a great deal of great deals! Hee, funny pun. I get discounts at places, cheaper movie tickets and many one-for-one deals. It's so attractive!
I don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing - am I really saving money, or am I just spending more? Hahaha. And the best thing is, you don't even see the money disappearing! It's just a beep (now you don't even need to put your name down!) and that's it. ALL YOURS.
But anyways, I decided to skip all the complicated parts and go straight to the perks - make use of all the privileges. HAHA.
So I dated Sarah, my jobless best friend, and went for the Cold Rock one-for-one waffle icecream for brunch! Ooh it was so yummy. We get to choose 4 different flavours! We had mango, strawberry, choc chip and honeycomb, and my taste buds were exploding! I LOVE ICE CREAM! It just makes me so happy, instantly
For the rest of our morning (or early afternoon), we just sat lazily on the swings, chatting and reading abit. It's so good - the decadent life of the jobless. You can literally count seconds and watch them go by without a care. Too bad for the rest of the people eyeing the swings! Hee.

Then I met Fran & Kaiyi in the early afternoon, and we headed down to town for more shopping/eating! First stop was at Paragon to look at Fran's dress, and help her decide if it's The Dress. And it was!
Our shopping would have been alot more satisfactory if Marciano had more decent sales advisers. The one who served us was horrible! She spoke horrible English AND Mandrain. She manhandled the poor dress by scrunching it up into a tiny ball in her hands, for what reason we don't know, because she just left it on the counter right after she did that. She dropped the shoes all over the display shelves. She was so unhelpful with our requests for her to call up the other boutiques and check for sizes. SHE WAS TERRIBLE! She only finally acceded to our request when Kaiyi and I whipped out The Bitch Tone. The customers at Crocs have taught me well on that one. Haha! Take that, lousy salesgirl!
Having walked off some of my brunch, it was straight to NewYork NewYork for some lunner. Daddy invented the word when I came home and told I finished lunch at 6. He told me, "That's not your lunch, That's your lunner! The meal comprising both lunch and dinner." HAHA. True huh, since they have the word brunch, why not lunner! It's quite cool. :D

We used the one-for-one main course voucher that came with the application of The New Yorker card. I went for dinner there with my classmates around my birthday (I know, I need to blog about this as well and it's been 3months HAHA), and we got a card which I get to keep. Hee.
Between the three of us, we had a huge set of ribs, a whole chicken, a mudpie with icecream, a waffle with icecream, and a stick of candyfloss each. We were so full and satisfied! You would NEVER find me anorexic, I'm telling you.
We spent the rest of the our time people watching and friend spotting. NYNY is The Place to be! Much credit to Fran (that girl practically put a name to every other person who walked by, and managed to get 6/10 RIGHT!), we met at least 5groups of different people! Whom we know! Cool huh? We know! It was so fun!
First, we saw Tessa, Sarah and some other MG girls having their primary school gathering. Then Fran kept seeing one friend after another, all of them with the same What Are You Doing In Singapore look. After that it was Carol, followed by Joyce, Sabby & Yingwei. Then it was QiuYan. And finally it was Kalai!
We just sat there and went "OMG LOOK THAT'S _______ !!! HEEEEEY!" so many times! It was hilarious, like meet-the-people day or something. NYNY is a cool place to be!
I love being with these two girls. We always have funny stories. ALWAYS. It's so good to have you back, Fran Chye!
