sunkissed babes

sunkissed babes

Sun, sea & sand with all my favourite girls - summer doesn't get any better than this! I love my golden tan even though I exchanged my shinguards tanline for a SLIPPER tan okay. Super loser. Haha.

Omigosh Sentosa was DA BOMB today! Despite having to wake up at the unearthly hour of 7.30am (okay, actually 8.15am after my lazying around) and getting my ass to sentosa at 10am (even though we were supposed to meet at 9am). Haha! We got there early to set up our surprise thing for Bev's early birthday celebration but I was so late I almost ran into Bev! Hahaha.

Because I was late, I had to take the monorail and then the tram to Siloso Beach on my own. Seeing the excellent weather with a huge blue sky and bluer seas, I decided to be a tourist on the tram and whipped out my camera for the first picture of the day. Little did I notice that there were a bunch of boys walking right next to the tram and they were all starting to stare at me as I aimed the camera at the landscape. After a few snapshots, I realised they were all waving and gesturing at me and shouting something. So I took off my iPod and tried to figure out what they were saying. Maybe I dropped something, you know? But then the tram started moving and I didn't catch what they were saying. So I looked at my camera.

Goodness me. They were the tiny specks of people at the bottom of the pictures! THEY THOUGHT I WAS SNAPPING PICTURES OF THEM! And it was so obvious I was not a tourist because I wearing a Redbull singlet, FBTs and Haviannas! No tourist would be so unglam!

Those guys turning to stare at me with my cam!

When I finally found Fran, Debbie, Sammie, Kaiyi & Vannie and was relating my embarassing encounter to them, a bunch of boys were nearing us. Kaiyi asked me if it was them. I stared, and checked my camera and it just had to be them! And they just had to park themselves at the shelter next to ours. Tsk. Then we had a fine time laughing at them apply suntan lotion for each other though. Freaking gay! Guys, please don't do that at the beach. It's grossly gay.

Then Bev finally arrived with Shiyan, Eleen & Haikal. We told Shiyan to blindfold Bev before Cafe del Mar and bring her to where we were. When she was close enough, we gestured to Shiyan to push Bev front a little. AND SHE TOTALLY SHOVED BEV INTO THE SAND! Hahaha! This is seriously OH MY FREAK! Then Bev got up and took off her blindfolds and all of us went SURPISE! And asked to look to the island opposite! (:

You can't really see it, but it says
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEVELYN! -LOVE AC HOCKS'07"

Another of the blues of the skies & seas because the previous one was editted so that the words can be better seen. Haha.

After a round of failed frisbee, we walked around, then to the opposite island to take pictures and look at fishes. HAHA. Yes, loserish, I know. But after that we trooped off to Cafe del Mar! For drinks and for tanning beds to lie on, instead of dying of thirst on the extreme hot sand. And because Toren refused to swim in the sea with the fishes cos she's scared they'll __________. Haha let's just say Toren's the funniest thing ever. :D

While we were soaking in the pool, some of them were talking about this waiter who's pretty cute. I turned around and realised it's WeiSong, and I said I kinda know him. Then Vannie started screaming "Eh, Mengqi's friend!" and waved at him! His collegues saw and told him and I was like SHIT. He waved back at us and I wondered if he waved because he recognises me or because he thinks we're weird.

Then after a long, long while, while I was standing at the tanning beds with a BIG GULP in my hands, he came and plant himself right in front of me and waved at me. So I went "OH! SO YOU RECOGNISE ME AH?"

Guess what he said. "Uh, actually I was gonna tell you no outside drinks allowed." Pauses. "But yah, I recognise you lah."

OMG I WAS SO EMBARASSED I WANTED TO DIG A HOLE IN THE SAND AND BURY MYSELF INSIDE OR GO DROWN MYSELF IN THE SEA!!! As if that was not enough, immediately after that I dropped the entire cup on the ground! And he had to offer to pick it up and throw it away for me. Omg kill me somebody, KILL ME.

And at this point of time I think all of you are laughing so hard you won't read anything else I type. So I'll leave you with some pretty pictures which will hopefully distract you. Heh.

Fran's pretty towel! Don't you all love it?

The HAVE's.

Still the HAVE's.

The MAYBE-NOT's. Haha kidding, babes! (:

We are GORGEOUS!

And them too! :D
What kinda guy are you? HAHA.

Our surprised & happy girl.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BEV!

Stripes & Flowers.
Haikal was taking the photo & Fran said, "Maybe he thinks it's his birthday." Haha!

Soaking up the sun!

Says it all. (:

Lounging in the sunshine.

Losing touch with my camwhore skills.

Poolside babes!

The really nice pool, all ours. (:

Never too many!

Debbie, Sammie, Vannie & Fran!

Stripeys.

Haha Haikal reading his papers.

Debbie & Vannie & me looking cool. Haha!

The Mafia lady!

The Successor.

Frannie & Debbie!

CUTENESS OVERLOAD!

The baby looks saaaad. I think we held her for too long.

Sammie playing with her.

Aww!

Fran Chye!

A very pretty photo of Sammie & Debbie!

Shades of blue. (:

Babes. :D

Frannie!

With Debbie!

After! I'm a sucker for any bits of scenery.

From the monorail.

Well well, Ms Tan says no pictures of her up here at all, so yups, no pictures of her! Haha. Being a teacher.

Eating at Food Republick was pretty crazy. We were all dying of thirst and gulped down iced drinks like camels. (Actually I don't know if camels drink very much but the idea is that they are desert animals, get it? Haha. Sorry, I'm not very intelligient, you see.) And then we shopped and walked around until we were freaking tired and went home. I swear I'm gonna steal Ms Tan's slippers one day; they're sooo comfortable.

I had a whale (Why do people actually say whale? Whales are actually huge and ugly and they don't look very happy at all) of a time and felt like I've gone on a girly holiday at Coasta Rica for a week or so! And I guess also because we played frisbee today and I had to run, and it's the first time I've actually moved so much since season ended. Haha! Very refreshing and very satisfying. I'm such a happy & sunkissed girl now! Yipee!

japense evening

japanese evening

I met up with Cynthia for dinner last Saturday! First time this year. So not enough okay, woman! I need more of your bitchiness. :D Hahaha. We had Jap food at this restaurant at Marina, and it was gooood food. And of course excellent company. Catching up over dinner was absolutely lovely! So many stories to exchange everytime we see each other huh. (: Then we realised it's funny how we ate at a Jap restaurant after so long when we first met each other at Jap class. Haha.

After dinner we went outside to take a walk because it was freezing in Marina Square and disturbed couples trying to make out in the dark. Hahaha. We were lamenting maybe it was a bad idea because that woman was dying her jellies until we saw fireworks from the Arts Festival thing! Pretty cool. :D

And then I remembered I had to get grocery like mushroom soup and ham and pineapples for my mom because she wanted to make us pizzas for lunch. After discovering that they closed the Hypermart at Marina, we walked all the way to Marketplace so that I can do my auntie shopping. Hahaha. I kept telling her that we're training taitais and she didn't want to believe me until we found out she was so much more familiar with the aisles! Thanks love! I wouldn't have been able to find everything before it closed without you.

My Chicken something came in a pretty box!

Mango desert! Minus the really soft icecream& real mango slices, it's really like ice kachang.

I said "Eh, let's take a picture together."She said, "No, you need a picture of ME!" Hahaha.

Together!

What can I say? This is not even of what we took altogether. Haha!

My favourite of the night. (:

starbucks afternoon

starbucks afternoon
[/Edit: Pictures up!]

Geog lecture was a draaaaaag this morning. But lunch after at Crystal Jade with Liying and Yiting pretty good, except that it was kinda a fluke because I wanted to eat porridge but we ended up going to the La Mian Xiao Long Bao one, so no porridge in the end. Hahaha.

After Liying left for drama, we popped by Cold Storage to buy batteries for my G.C and a cacti for Yiting's friend! Talk about random shopping. Oh I realised batteries are not cheap okay! 12 small things for 14bucks! Eh, actually it's okay la. Haha!

Starbucks has great ambience on the second level. A smallish room with a few tables, couches and coffeetables scatterd around, with one side of the wall replaced by glass with maroon curtains, leading out to a small balcony with ceiling fans and outdoor sitting. We managed to snag the couches and I loved the afternoon there! Quiet, cosy and pretty relaxing. :D I managed to do about 3 hours of Normal Distribution without going mad. So yups, not a bad place! Friends if you haven't been there, I suggest you spend an afternoon there mugging!

BUT. All was spoilt when my friend got bored and started talking to her thorny plant! Hahaha. ANd when she started talking to me, I didn't even realise and told her "Eh, can you stop talking to the plant!". Hee.

Okay lah, it wasn't Yiting. But this boy from Fairfield and his 3 lady friends who came in the middle of the afternoon and planted themselves in the middle of the room. The boy opened his mouth and gosh, his voice. SO FREAKING LOUD OKAY! He was making announcements to the entire cafe the whole time he was there. I think his friends reminded him that he was speaking rather loudly, but after 5minutes he completely forgot! Feeling pissed off by Math, his non-stop super loud chattering was just SUPER annoying. So the next question he asked, I answered it. Yiting started laughing (muffled, because we are considerate) madly but he didn't even realise. Total oblivion to his surroundings. The highlight was when he was speaking halfway and he suddenly said, "Eh, it's quite noisy here!" Hahaha! Omg Yiting and I just burst into laughter. He was the only one talking!

The best epitome of our afternoon.

I was studying really hard!

So was Yiting!

She was so excited when she discovered this.

SAME AS MINE! Hahaha.

She ordered me to take a picture of her plant.

She kept laughing at my Cyclops hairband!

A normal one.

I told her to go hide behind the curtains. Haha!

Angry Cyclops!

Happy Cyclops! :D

The genius, doing her genius thing on serviettes. Haha!

Mirror shot!

Well, they had three mirrors. Haha!

She was trying to fertilise the tree with coffebeanss' residue!

So yups, I've had a good and somewhat productive afternoon! More to come, hopefully. With Sarah tomorrow and Fran on Wednesday. Yay all my study buddies are finally are free. :D And Tan Yiting I'd better see you again this holidays! And Cynthia Teo! And Julia Tan! Misses, misses!
