notte di delizioso

notte di delizioso

"Meng, they weren't kidding when they said you're always late." - Sammie. Hahaha! That was Sammie's quote of Saturday. Heh. During holidays, my ability for punctuality (whatever little bit that I possess in the first place) just pummels down the drain. I cannot get anywhere on time at all. I was an hour late today. I don't mean to be late on purpose just because I have very nice friends! Okay, I really have to do something about this for the millionth time.

So yups, I went to meet Sammie at Starbucks for some attempted studying, which only really began after Ms Tan came at 5ish? Hahaha. We still managed to get some stuffs done - a piece of comprehension minus vocab and AQ for me and some Bio for Sammie, plus a really, really good talk. I love talking to my friends. I like finding out new yet not so new things about each other and talking about ridiculous/funny/absurd/embarassing/heartbreaking moments from the past without reserves. I love you so, Sammie! (:

Dinner was to be at Pasta Fresca along Bukit Timah with the hockers and my dear escorts (Sammie & Ms Tan) got me there ON TIME! Hahaha they didn't let me say, "Hey, I'm on time!" Instead, it was "Hey, WE are on time!" Heh. True la, I probably won't be there till 7pm if it weren't for the two of them. :D

It a cosy, comfortable and lovely affair. We had the best fun pointing at the menu, trying to figure out what's what, having Ms Tan explain to us, coming up with weird ways to order because we didn't know how to pronnounce the food names (like saying it really fast and when the waiter goes 'Huh?', you go 'You mean you didn't catch me? I'm a quarter Italian!'), passing down spoonfuls of food down the table so that we can try different stuffs, camwhoring like cameras were gonna be banned the next day, passing the happy food door gifts, saying hilarious, not so hilarious and obscene jokes, singing Happy Birthday to Sammie and Vannie & happy Teacher's Day to Ms Tan (she was rather embarassed) and finally hugging goodbyes like we're never gonna see each other again despite the fact that it'll only be a Sunday apart before school starts.

Ooh, and I must dedicate a special paragraph to the Italian owner of the place! He was the nicest person on the face of earth! We had three pieces of tiramisu for our mini-celebration, and when we were footing the bill, he came forth and told us it was on the house! Plus, he didn't seem to mind us making so much noise in his romantic little restaurant, and came outside to shake our hands to thank us for coming at the end! What a suave, dark darling. :D ALL OF YOU SHOULD GO TO PASTA FRESCA DE SALVATORE AT BUKIT TIMAH TO EAT SOMEDAY OKAY! Meet the nice guy and have some nice Italian food. (:

Sammie! (:

We didn't wanna use flash, so it's super blur.

Haha Ms Tan unglam.

Hahaha Sammie unglam!

Debbie the happy pill!

That's what we do best. (:

Obviously, we were singing "Happy Teacher's Day to yooooou!"

Making wishes.

Cutting their tiramisu cake!

Debbie is too cute!

Hahaha I'm the best self-shot photographer around.
Okay, next to Sarah. :D

Me, Joces, Shiyan & Sabbbby.

I love this! (:

All squeeze in this pleeease!

Sammie, Sabby and... Oops I cut out someone. Sorry!

Peace to you!

Hahaha Ashley's favourite pose. :D
AND SAMMIE IS POKING MY NOSTRILS! Haha!

We're the best posers around as well. Hee.

Sabby said, "To the left, to the left!" Hahaha!

With Bev on the way home. I love this girl too. (:

And the rest of the many, many!

last bit to go

last bit to go

In a few hours I'll have to drag my lazy ass out of bed even before the sun is up, put myself in the hot shower, throw on the white and navy blue uniform (hopefully they still fit), dump some stuffs into my bag, have abit of breakfast, step into my blue Pumas that are starting to fall apart and head to Dover Close East by 7.30am sharp.

Yes, school starts tomorrow! I can't quite place how I feel about the last term of college - it's a mixture of anticipation, reluctance, joy, dread and perhaps a strange element of contentment. Mostly, I think I feel ready to battle the next few months of lectures, tutorials, study sessions, consultation, revision, mock exams and everything else it takes to get me good grades for A's. (:

I've had an excellent break, one of the best school holidays so far. It was utter hedonism with zero regards for the world and its endless worries. I got to spend time with almost all of my favourite people - lunch and movie with the class, shopping & swimming & watching DVDs with Sarah, tanning or trying to on a rainy day with Shiyan and Liying, more shopping and creating the cutest gifts with Fran and Kaiyi, reading sad books and bimbo magazines at Starbucks with Fran, dinner with Quikz, 3 hours of piano with the family, lazing on the couch watching tv for hours on no end every night, meeting up with Clare and Vannie for lunch (a very late one) and shopping, waking up at noon every single day, snorkelling and watching sunsets and wading in the stream with Mommy and Smelly, having a very good Italian dinner with the hockers with 3 tiramisus on the house and finally drawing my 2week hoilday to a close with High School Musical 2 on Disney Channel.

So yes, I've had alot of fun, definitely enough to last me until the end of A's! I want to do a double degree even though I have no idea what course I want to do in Uni. I want to be standing on the stage when we receive our results. I want to get kickass results to top up my kickass JC life. I want to make Daddy and Mommy proud, no matter how kiddy it sounds. And really, I want to make something out of my 2years in AC and 12years in this gruelling education system.

Here I come, A Levels! And before that, my Prelims results which are bound be a total embarassment. Heh.

glorious sunset

glorious sunset

When it first started going down...

And 5minutes later.

I think sunsets and sunrises are amazing because every single moment is different. It was sheer joy to sit alone on the beach, bundled up in my new sari-thing and watch the evening sun dip below the horizon. The warm, golden sun rays sent diamonds skidding and dancing on the water, and eventually painted the whole world a light, light gold. It was so lovely. I felt like I could get lost in that moment forever. Whoever needs soma? Haha!

But also because I decided to stay on the beach on my own while the rest went back to the chalet to bathe, I got lost. Not lost in the sunset in a figurative way, but I literally got lost. I couldn't remember which way was the shortcut back, and it was getting dark and thus even harder to figure out route to take! And when I finally found myself back at the chalet, I coudn't remember which cottage we were staying at nor the cottage number. Haha! Good thing it wasn't a crowded period, and the guy at the counter could remember where I was supposed to be. :D

And despite having known me for all my life, my mom was still pretty shocked at just how bad my sense of directions was, if I have any at all. Hee.

sunkissed

sunkissed

Hello friends! I'm back from my lovely holiday in Tioman! I had a wonderful time, snorkeling, suntanning, building sandcastles, watching sunsets, treking, playing frisbee on the beach, feeding fishes and taking way too many pictures. (:

At the same time, I'm really glad to be back home. I missed my comfy bed, my nice shower, the just-right aircon temperature, and even city life! I think I'm really well-rested and all ready to battle the next three months of studying. :D

Tioman has lovely beaches, unpolluted and not overdeveloped. The waters were so clear and so blue you feel like you're in the middle of a postcard instead of at a real place. The chalet we called home for 2days wasn't 5star, but it is built with real wood and fitted right in with environment! Even the water that flows out from the tap comes from the mountains. It was an excellent break from the hustle and bustle of Singapore. So yes, I've had alot of fun, and have many, many photos to show off! I'll load them up soon, after I'm done with my SGC thing and the hockey dinner.

For now, I've got two themed posts! (: And I've decided to lock my blog already. Please leave your email on the tagboard or email me at starlitsky_57@hotmail.com if you still want to read this. Otherwise, this is a byebye posts to you guys! There's no private reason for wanting to lock up this blog, just that I'm pretty tired of nameless, faceless people with mean things to say and no guts for anything else. If you're gonna be mean about it, you're not gonna get to read my blog. Simple as that.

Alright, that's all for now! More pictures will be up very soon, I promise!

journey of my feet

journey of my feet
(Inspired by her)

POST WARNING: Not for those who don't like my legs! (:

Watching the tide recede.

Walking on the softest sand.

Crossing a little stream!

Hahaha I think this is such a cute theme. And so totally appropriate after what certain people have said, though that's the least important reason. I have to admit that it does give a little extra kick nevertheless. (: But anyways, I was too busy looking at the scenery and taking pictures of other stuffs so I only took 3pictures of my feet! Hahaha enough for now I guess! :D

my pretty face

my pretty face

POST WARNING: Not for those who don't like my face. (: Hahaha I'm such a bitch at heart and I love it. :D

Heh I packed my narcissism along in my suitcase and brought it along to Tioman. The great scenery only served to aggravate it. Hee. I also need to prove that I've really been to these places, you see. Scenic photos can be downloaded everywhere. Haha!

First day, exploring the beach area.

At sunset. They call it the golden rays on your face. (:

On the boat to go snorkeling in the deeper waters!

Sunset, second day.

Ooh it looks like Australia's beaches! :D

Trekking to go see the mini rockfall. Geog student at heart. Haha!

I couldn't resist it, since we were leaving the place already. ):

The long, long jetty.

It's beautiful place.

rainy starbucks afternoon

rainy starbucks afternoon

Nothing beats sitting at Starbucks, curled up with a nice book (even though I forgot to bring the book I wanted to read), sipping warm sweet caramel coffee, munching on some yummy sesame bagels with cream cheese, and having great conversations on a cold, rainy afternoon with the best company around. Yups, that was how Fran and I spent our Monday afternoon. Absolutely lovely.

Post-Script: I'm going away to Tioman (it's in MALAYSIA, not China coughsChriscoughs or Indonesia coughsShoxcoughs, my friends. Haha!) for a couple of days tomorrow, don't miss me! :D And I just realised I have to hand up my SGC and PQ by Monday! Which means I only have Friday to do it. Oh wells, it'll have to wait till I get back, I guess. :D Have fun too, you all!

3 hours of piano

3 hours of piano

My brother had his first piano rectial today, and it lasted 3HOURS! Normally I would flip at having to sit through a 3hour piano concert, but since it's his first, I didn't complain one bit okay. He has such a saint for a sister. HAHA. But honestly, the music was pretty good and there were some really cute kids as young as 6 performing! They looked so cute on stage. Some of them just stood in the middle of the stage looking for their parents in the audience, and shouted to them before they proceeded on with their playing. Hahaha.

I heard a few pieces that I really like too! Scarborough Fair was the most romantic (in a sad way) piece that night, I think. And somebody played Canon in D too! (: I'm no classical music connoisseur, but I would like to think a know a thing or two. Haha, not a total noooooob as they say. :D But then again, I was rather happy to finally get out of my seat when it finally drew to a close with some violin pieces. The violins are so small and cute by the way!

Walking to Bugis from Waterloo was a growing pain in my new heels, especially when I had to look out for wet patches from the drizzle. Graah. But I was very proud to be wearing them. Heh. I was so hungry by the time we got to Swensens for a very late dinner, but I ended up eating the slowest somehow. Haha my mom says I don't make sense half the time. And I always tell her "Yeah Mom, I can figure where the genes came from." That would send my parents into a friendly debate about WHERE I GOT MY NOT-SO-SMART GENES FROM immediately. Haha! Yeah, that's my parents for you.

Oh oh and Mommy was the funniest thing today, I swear. She was whining and complaining about having nothing to wear because all her clothes made her look fat and she wore her only slim-looking all black outfit the day before and she was pretty serious that she didn't want to get out of the house that evening. Jokingly I told her to go get the clothes from the wash and dry it with a hairdryer AND SHE SERIOUSLY DID THAT OKAY! Hahaha! Yes, she spent 20minutes drying the exact outfit she wore the day before just because she felt fat.

Now now, there's no big question about where I got my genes from, eh? :D

The nonchalant kids.

This is where we went to!

It was a pretty building. (:

Hahaha my smelly brother.

Mommy & me!

The coolest people. :D

The piano kid at home! (:

tagging along

tagging along

Almost every year, Mommy's childcare would celebrate Teacher's Day with a good meal at some cool place or another, and my brother and I always tag along. It has almost become a tradition I think. It just so happens that this year's at Vivo's Marche, so twice to Marche in a week for me!

The meal lasted forever and my brother couldn't stop bringing stuffs back to the table. I think he was rather fascinated by the Marche Card system and ordered half of his stuff just so that he can hand over his card to have it tapped. Haha! He ate more than 30bucks worth of food ALL BY HIMSELF. Quite scary for an 11yearold eh.

Anyways, the part I liked best was AFTER the meal - shopping! :D Mommy and her best friend (who also happens to be her colleague, yes) sent the two boys on a cab home and off we went into the huge mall! Oh and my brother was so smart he went to wade in the water and forgot to hold his pants up so we had to buy a new pair for him first. Haha! And if you notice, Giordano, Bossini, HangTen and such all have their kids section stationed right next to the playground area. Smart ah!

We walked forever to find shorts for Mommy but didn't see anything she liked. Gosh, she is the pickiest shopper I've ever met in my life. And she's always complaining that I didn't inherit any of her fussy genes. Haha. So after 3whole hours, we only managed to snag a set of new bikini for me and tankini for Mommy and her best friend! How hip eh, the two of them. I took 5minutes to choose my bikini, and I swear they took 50minutes trying and choose the design, cutting, size, material and I don't know what else! I never knew they were so many things to consider before a purchase. I usually buy my stuffs on impulse, as Mommy always complains too. Heh.

Okay, I'm super tired from walking around in my impractical golden heels. I would probably have come home with the boys if I wore my new sexy wedges. Haha. Hopefully I'll be able to wear them for my brother's piano rectial tomorrow! Not much walking involved. :D Hee I love all my shoes, on and off my legs! (:

Oh yes, everybody should go watch The Devil Wears Prada again, it's just so super good!

The table of us, minus the two boys.

I like this picture of Mommy! Very nice colours. (:

The brother, on his high cow. Hahaha!

The people in black.

Mommy & me!

I like the colours of this picture, but we were as stiff as statues la. Haha!

Mommy & the best friend.
(Look at their shoes! Almost the same! Hahaha.)

My dear Mom ran there to take a picture with the boat.

I love this woman. (:
